Ian Malcolm Pole Costume

This costume was a special project for me. It was made for my own pole dance competition routine, which debuted at Pole Sports Organization (PSO) Canada East 2022. The performance was inspired by the character Ian Malcolm from the 1992 movie Jurrasic Park.

This costume included a tear-away button-up shirt, a beige top, red shorts with garters, a styled wig, costume glasses and a dino egg prop.

The button-up shirt and shorts were made by upcycling existing pieces. I shortened a button-up shirt and replaced the buttons with snaps to allow for the shirt to be 'ripped' open. I added a collar with red lycra on the underside for a collar pop reveal.

 

The shorts were made by taking the waistband and garters from an old pole set and using the same red lycra to build the rest of the shorts.
