Star Trek Inspired Pole Costume

This dance costume was designed for a client to use for performance and competition.
The challenge to overcome with this design was in allowing the theme of the costume to be conveyed while still maintaining the fit and cut required to allow the performer free movement in their pole dance routine. Notice the cutouts in the armpits and elbows to allow for grip, while still maintaining the sleeve structure.
The other challenge was to securely add sequins to the costume without interfering with fit or performance. The sequins were hand sewn with elastic thread, allowing the garment to stretch with moment in those areas.
